The complete 2nd Grade Vocabulary List is now available for all PC compatible and Macintosh computers for immediate download from this web page. 

The list contains the 860 "new" Grade 2 Vocabulary words which students should memorize by the end of the school year.  Students who can fluently read these words typically score in the top 25% on 2nd Grade standardized reading tests.  This "professional" download version is presented in a layout that makes it excellent for "one-on-one" testing - designing additional reading activities - and student/teacher conferences.  To make viewing easier, the words have been written using slightly larger letter size and wider letter spacing and are placed with three weeks of words per page.

All words have been carefully selected as words typically used in 2nd Grade Reading Materials and on 2nd Grade Standardized Tests such as the FCAT - SAT - and CTBS.  Words are presented from the "most common" at the beginning of the list to the "lesser common" toward the end, thereby providing the most logical and effective order for instruction.  Words have also been organized into similar vowel sound categories which greatly accelerates word mastery and memorization of the vowel sounds.
